Port Stephens is a huge bay, mostly shallow and with lots of sand banks. In its deeper areas it can have tidal runs of around 3 knots. Port Stephens is not only a magnificent cruising destination, where Ann and I have enjoyed a number of pleasant days, it is also home to “Sail Port Stephens” an annual regatta that we have and will continue to compete in.
